Hi I'm Steve
I like Maths, I don't love it lol. So, I needed to create this site to help me achieve my own goals, but I realised that many people would benefit from it also. One central source of useful calculators that you can use at different stages of your life.
I would say I am bad at maths, but after studying Mechanical, Aerospace and Manufacturing at University, I have seen my belly's worth of mathematical computation for a lifetime. I think once you've understood the basics, you can use a calculator; after all, at that point, it's all about speed.

Calc Angel is a free collection of calculators for freelancers, consultants and small businesses. Every tool gives you an instant, clearly explained answer to a real business question — what to charge, what a discount really costs, when you break even, whether your marketing pays for itself.
Why we built it
Business maths isn't hard, but it's easy to get subtly wrong — margin confused with markup, VAT "removed" by subtracting a percentage, day rates set by dividing a salary by 260. Each of our calculators pairs the answer with the formula, a worked example, the common mistakes and honest assumptions, so you understand the result rather than just receiving it.

Calc Angel is written, programmed and maintained by Steve Davis (Founder & Editor) and published by Helium22 - www.helium22.com. Every formula on the site has one named person responsible for it — how calculators are researched, reviewed, corrected and kept up to date is set out in our editorial standards. If you find an error, tell us and fixing it becomes the site's top priority.
How the site is funded
The calculators are free to use and free to embed. The site is supported by advertising and carefully chosen affiliate partnerships, which are always clearly labelled as such.
